ReMind Lab studies the impact of cognitive change on the health and well-being of older adults, and develops non-invasive screening methods for early detection of cognitive decline.
ReMind Lab is led by Dr. Nikki Hill and Dr. Jacqueline Mogle in the College of Nursing at Penn State University. Dr. Hill is a nurse scientist specializing in gerontology, while Dr. Mogle is an experimental psychologist focused on cognition and aging.
Together with the ReMind team, we contribute to the science of optimizing cognitive, functional, and psychological health throughout the aging process — going directly into participants' homes to understand their lived experience, not just lab data.
Examining how memory change affects routines, independence, and quality of life for older adults in their own homes.
Developing non-invasive screening methods to detect early signs of Alzheimer's disease in community-dwelling older adults.
Studying the factors that optimize cognitive, functional, and psychological health throughout the aging process.
Our study involves at-home interviews, brief cognitive assessments, and routine monitoring over several weeks. No invasive procedures. Participation is voluntary and confidential.
